Sara McDermott Jain, also known as “One Scary Woman,” is an award-winning, produced screenwriter and filmmaker, as well as an international best-selling author specializing in the horror and thriller genres.
Her signature presentation, guiding audience members from "fear to fierce” as she shows them how to find transformation via the oft-overlooked wisdom in classic horror stories, is the first of its kind. An expert in the art of story structure, Sara has an utterly unique way of applying the lessons of how to craft an expert story to how to craft an expert life.
In addition to her writing and speaking career, she is also the creator of the Book to Script Course and has worked with over 75 authors and numerous production companies in adapting books for the screen (www.booktoscriptcourse.com).
She founded PRINDIE, the Princeton Independent Film Festival (2015-2022) and is the current director of the Neumann Inspires Film Festival at Neumann University, sharing her love of film and its inherent lessons with film-goers.
